... Giddy with excitement about something I found out this afternoon!
Will blog a bit more when I'm less of a giddy kipper!

Well so far my plan for daily blogging hasn't quite worked out. Mainly because I didn't get up to anything interesting yesterday other than a quick visit from the parentals and their hound (who by the end of the visit needed to be taken to the vets due to an angry looking and itchy ear), a trip to the launderette (and getting funny looks from passers buy as I rather childishly wrapped my self up in freshly tumble dries sheets) and baking a few fairy cakes (of which The Yorkshireman ate half of before I could even ice them!).
Today was far more exciting as there was a trip to the John Lewis haberdashery department primarily for the buying of bondaweb but also for an oogle and a fondle of all the lovely yarn. I am, unfortunately, a bit of a wool addict. There is nothing more satisfying than holding squishy balls of wool in your hands and enjoying their candy bright colours just for the sake of it. This is usually frowned upon by the more 'serious' knitters as well as the shop assistants as I usually leave having jumbled up the display and only having purchased one ball of wool! Ah well, its the simple thing I guess.
The second enjoyable activity of the day was spending some time with the 'other' man in my life, the ever excitable Joseph Morton-Fuller. Admittedly this particular chap is covered in white hair, travels on four leggs and is only on loan from his Mummy, but we usually make the most of our short time together by having a merry jaunt around the park up the road. This usually consists of me getting dragged around the park as every bush, treestump and puddle must be investigated. If the weather is fine then we'll have bit of a run around and some ball/squirrel chasing, but today has been rather damp and muggy and buch of the park seemed to be underwater after yesterdays downpours so we had to give the running and chasing a miss today. Sadly I don't seem to be able to upload any of the photos I took today but when The Yorkshireman returns hopefully he will be able to work some computer magic or at least tell me what I'm doing wrong!
Well that seems to be it for today so I'll sign off and see you all after the weekend.

First post..
Hello Blogland!
I'm not 100% sure why I've decided to create a blog as I've never really been one for keeping dairies and such, but as I'm newly unemployed and seem to have quite a lot of time on my hands I thought I'd give it a bash!
Just to get to grips with this whole blogging technology I'll try to add a few photos and use the Seven Random Things as a nice way to introduce myself.

Just to get to grips with this whole blogging technology I'll try to add a few photos and use the Seven Random Things as a nice way to introduce myself.
- I live in Peterborough - now don't hold it against me as I'm technically not a local (I come from a village just down the road), I just have the misfortune of living here.
- I have an unhealthy obsession with baking.. Ever since I first made fairy cakes with my mum as a child I've been hooked. I never need an excuse to bake and for some reason I find it quite therapeutic.. That and I like to scrape the bowl out after I've fur the cakes in the oven!
- I've been a vegetarian for nearly 4 years. People always ask me why I don't eat meat (or fish for that matter) and its simply because I don't agree with battery farming and the like. Why on earth should an animal be subjected to some pretty rotten living conditions for its short life just so we can pay £1.99 for cheap, nutritionally bland chicken fillets?
- I live with a Yorkshireman. I'm quite fond of him in fact and I'm sure there will be many references to him in future posts. Unfortunately he is not so fond of all the chintzy and pink things that I love so much and can frequently be found hiding behind the screen of his laptop grumbling about "what do you need another cushion/bag/dress for?"
- I only have a semi firm grip on reality. I tend to spend much of my day with my head in the clouds (much to the annoyance of The Yorkshireman) and as a result have absolutely no comprehension of practical things like how to plum in a washing machine or how to tie a proper knot. I tend to leave all of these things to The Yorkshireman and busy myself with arranging scatter cushions and making cups of tea.
- I only drink decaffinated tea at home. This means my morning cup is mearly a placebo, but the advantage is that I can sleep at night.
- I have a highly strung and slightly neurotic cat called Kayobi. She is the prettiest kitty in all the land but sadly is not too fond of other people/cats/dogs/loud noises.
